FLASHBACK and DATA GUARD

There aren’t many reasons a DBA would want to use FLASHBACK DATABASE on production…..it rolls back everything for the entire database. 

But….if you have a physical standby that can easily be used for many different tasks.

Batch Job Reversal

Untested Hot Fix, Patch

Stress Testing

Restore datafile *see Metalink Note:372656.1

Oracle Upgrades

Reinstate Primary

ASM or RAC Migration

Tuning

Affects minimal number of USERS!
